During the month of January, 2019, the paintings of Max Horbund will be displayed at the Maywood Library.
Max has been a professional artist for forty years, his expertise being oil painting. He has gone through periods from realism, to abstract painting, and his work has been featured in galleries and museums all over the world. His paintings are included in more than a hundred private and public collections and he has been represented by galleries in America, and Japan. Max was an instructor at The Art Student’s League of New York City, served on its Board for 15 years and was the President of the League for three. He works at his studio in New Jersey and is an instructor of oil painting at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford
Also displayed are several paintings of Anita Carson’s.
Throughout her life, Anita was a “dabbler” in various art mediums. She took some art courses at Fordham University, but never oil painting, and was never “serious” about learning to paint. Then she studied with Max Horbund at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey, and will continue to apply herself to oil painting for the rest of her life, until she master’s it !
There are landscapes, still-lifes, and portraits. Some landscapes will be familiar to many Bergen County residents as scenes such as Dumont Train Station, Allison Woods, and Old Red Barn at Cooper’s Pond are on exhibit. Paintings are for sale. Information is posted at the library regarding purchase.
